Power Supply Requirements

Battery Powered?

Battery-powered "power banks" with USB-C PD capabilities are both supported and strongly recommended. Before using one, please make sure the power bank is fully charged. It's important to note that while some power banks meet the necessary criteria, they may not provide continuous power that's required to sustain your DME during the unlocking process. For this reason, MISSION offers a certified battery power option for just $20.00 USD.

M-Link uses advanced USB-C systems to provide power to the internal unit and the connected DME without using any third-party clamps, wires, or gadgets. A lot of work went into ensuring that nearly any USB-PD supply is supported, making it easy for the user to choose their power supply.

To check if the power supply is compatible, look at the technical label on the power supply of your choice. USB-C output values are listed in “V” and “A”. The most important number is the voltage, and your power supply should be certified to output either 1 of these voltages: 9V, 12, 14.5v, or 15v.

Cable Choices

When using a USB-C PD power bank to power the device, it's crucial to use the right cable. You should only use a USB-C to USB-C cable, where both ends have USB-C connectors, and it should be labeled as either "Fast Charge," "QC" (Quick Charge), or "PD" (Power Delivery).

What if I choose a wrong Power Supply?

  • M-Link has smart technology built in to check if your power supply is okay before it powers your DME. If you plug in a power supply that's not right (for example, one that can only provide 5V when 20V is needed), M-Link will test it and, if it's not suitable, it will give you a warning to use a different power supply. This helps keep your DME safe and working properly.
