Engine Optimization

From the home screen of the M-Flasher, press on the “Engine” tab to be transfered to the Engine Optimization configurator. This page allows you to select the optimization you would like to flash, configure the flashing style (advanced users) and customer the optimization to your likings.

Optimization Selection

  • On the top of the screen, you will see a scrollable flash selector.

  • Contains all optimizations that are available for your vehicle. You can scroll left or right to select what optimization you want to install. (Original, 91, 93, E30, E50, etc).

    • Original refers to all original firmware file as it was delivered to you by the dealer

    • 91 refers to the optimization for 91octane. This flash was built specifically to be used by minimum of 91 octane (higher octane is permitted)

    • 93 referes to the optimization for 93 octane. Optimized to deleiver the most safe power on 93 octane, this flash can be used with the minimum of 93 octane fuel.

    • E30 flash is our ethanol-adaptive solution. Can be used on pump gas or blend of upto 40% ethanol for maximum power output.

    • E50 is adaptive between 25% and 50% ethanol content. Can not be used on pump-only gas.

    • E85 is our true ethanol flash that is desinged to be used on ethanol without any fuel blending. Fill up on any E85 station and off you go. Due to fueling limitations, this option has limited power output than E30 due to hardware fueling limitaton. Designed to be the cost-efficient solution to today’s gas prices for customers looking to increase output while incrasing mile-per-dollar.

Flash Customizations

  • Every optimization we provide can be customized by the end user to their likings prior to installation.

  • Can be applied to Original (stock) optimization base as long as the DME is unlocked for flashing.

  • The customization options have been field-tested and we only provide what is tried and safe.

  • Users can contact us at support@missiontuning.com to put in a request for a specific customization. If it is something that we beelive safe to be used, we can add it.

  • Make sure you followed the Getting Ready steps in the Getting Started guide.

  • Do not Open or Close doors during the process as doing so will turn off ignition and cause flash to fail.

  • Once the flash process starts, a progress screen will display current progres and flashing steps. Do not close or switch programs until the process is complete.

  • Upon completion, a tone will play and a “Done” button will turn green.

  • Depending on current firwmare state, teh flash will take anywhere from 40 seconds to 4 minutes.

If you get a message regarding ecu not being unlocked, then it means that this vehicle is not currently flashed by our new M-Flasher platform and current unlock status can not be read out. As long as you are sure that your ECU has been unlocked (either bench unlocked using M-Link or you are coming to us from other platform), you can select “Unlock Over-Ride” setting from the Flashing option below.

Flashing Options (Advanced Users Only)

  • Top right of the screen is a “gear” icon. This brings up your Flashing control options.

  • Contents and options very based on Selected optimization (Original or 91/93/E30/etc)

  • Original:

    • Flash Type Selection.

      • Auto: Let the application decide on how to flash the vehicle based on current condition and flash state.

      • Full Restore: Restores the entire flash side of the ECU to the factory firwmare image. ECU will get re-locked after flash and no futher tuning will be possible until it is bench-unlocked again

      • Attempt Unlock: Mission’s AI targetting flashing. Our system will do everything in it’s power to flash original firmware and maintain DME unlock. If unlock fails, image will be restored with factory firwmare to let the user drive the car and get unlocked at later date.

  • Optimized (91/93/E30/etc)

    • Flash Type Selection.

      • Auto: Let the application decide on how to flash the vehicle based on current condition and flash state.

      • Force Full: Will force the ECU to get fully reflashed with fresh modified(optimized) firmware, maintaining unlock status as long as ECU has been previously unlocked.

    • Unlock Over-Ride

      • Auto: Let application read out the unlock status automatically.

      • Force Unlocked: Over-rides current state and tells the application to treat DME as if it has been bench-unlocked. Only should be used if ECU has been bench unlocked or user is moving from different platform and is currently flashed.
