Datalogging

Every MISSION product undergoes rigorous testing before release, yet datalogging remains an invaluable tool for fine-tuning and refining optimizations based on real-world wear and conditions. Live datalog view is available to all users, while recording datalogs is reserved for our licensed customers. Once recorded, datalogs are securely stored on the cloud, allowing users to access, delete, or share them at any time.

Datalogging will soon become an integral part of our world-exclusive in-house custom tuning. As the only flash provider not relying on third-party tuners for custom tunes, MISSION ensures end-to-end integrity for our customers, providing a single point of contact for all aspects of their tuning journey.

Setting Up Datalog

  • Users can rename the datalog in the “Datalog Name” field.

  • Depending on the vehicle and firmware level, users will have access to “Datalog Parameters” and “Advanced Parameters.”

  • Datalog Parameters: These include the vehicle's vital data, such as RPM, Torque, Ignition, Load, Knock, etc.

  • Advanced Parameters: Some firmware versions allow for logging advanced parameters known as Runtime Values. These are “hidden” variables from the general public by BMW, used to troubleshoot or fine-tune firmware during development stages.

  • Users can control which parameters to record by clicking on “Parameters” and enabling or disabling specific parameters.

  • Users can also change the order in which parameters appear on the live view by clicking “Edit” and dragging the specific parameter.

  • Clicking the “Live View” button will take you to the datalog live view screen, displaying current values being read from the vehicle.

Recording Datalog

  • In live view mode, you can scroll the gauges display to preview specific data streams as you see fit.

  • Pressing the red circle button in the lower middle of the screen will start recording the log. Pressing it again will stop the recording.

  • During recording, the timer on the left will increase to display the length of the current datalog.

  • Users can start recording a log, pause the recording by pressing the red stop button, and then resume recording as needed. This will create an additional datalog file for the new section being recorded.

  • Pressing the “Done” button will stop the live view and upload the datalog to the cloud.

Share / Delete Datalog

  • Users can share or delete a datalog they have recorded by navigating to the "View Previous" tab of the Datalog screen.

  • This screen will display all datalogs stored for the currently connected vehicle.

  • The "Share" button allows the user to send a specific datalog via text, AirDrop, or email.

  • The "Delete" button permanently deletes a specific datalog from the cloud. This action is irreversible, and we cannot assist with the recovery of deleted logs.
