In this tab, users can find access to important device settings from Firwmare to Writing Speed.

Device Firmware

Device firmware upgrade allows us to update all of our customers with the latest firmware without the need to have the device sent back to us. Using the “Upload New Firmware” button, use can upload the newest firmware image to the device which can include hotfixes or even new features.

 Instructions

Download System Logs

Backed by years of development, M-Link’s firmware is designed to just work. However, as with any technology, we understand that the environmental aspect comes into play, and issues can arise in the field. For that, we have this function available to all of our clients. Users can use this option to download the system logs stored on the device and send them to us for review and if needed, hotfixes and adjustments.

 Instructions
  • This function can be executed with the M-Link either connected or not connected to the DME

  • Press the “Download Logs” button.

  • M-Link will create a file containing system logs and it will be downloaded locally on the device you are using to control the M-Link.

  • Please email us the downloaded file together with the issues or concerns you are having and our team will get back with the findings.

  • The technical support email is support@missiontuning.com

Internal DME Backup

As described in detail on the features page (Backup ), M-Link saves the initial backup performed internally as well as providing a copy for the user. In case the user loses a copy of the initial backup, a redundant copy can be extracted using this function.

 Instructions
  • This function can be executed with the M-Link either connected or not connected to the DME

  • Press the “Download Backup” button.

  • The download process will begin and upon successful retrieval, a copy will be saved on the user’s machine named “InternalBackup_xxxxxx.dat”. “x” being the M-links serial number.

  • The user now has a copy of their original DME’s backup for safekeeping again which can be used in the Flashback feature (Flashback )

Writing Mode

One of the many unique and proprietary M-Link's features is how the DME’s memory segments are controlled, allowing for failsafe and autonomous operation by the end-user. M-Link has 2 high-level functions to control writing speed, “Mission Fast” or “Normal“.

  • This is a default mode at startup and is our accelerated writing function. It uses an advanced algorithm to check the currently existing data on DME and decide if writing is required in this specific sector of memory or not. Depending on the number of differences between files and currently present DME data, the full DME flash can be completed in as quick as 10 seconds!

  • In “Normal” mode, any time data is being written to the DME, the writing is done as a 1-1 image copy of the data, with no regard to what is currently present on the DME. This function is useful if unlikely even of DME data corruption such as repeat write failures during Unlock or Flashback.

 Instructions
  • This function is to be executed with M-Linked plugged into the DME and the “Start Here” step in Connect tab performed.

  • Writing mode will initially display as “Mission Fast” in green.

  • Pressing the “Switch” button will toggle the mode to “Normal” in orange

  • The setting will default to Fast each time the device is rebooted.
