Exercise cautionCaution. Depending on when the vehicle was driven, temperatures under hood could be high enough to cause burns.

  1. Locate a the plastic DME dust cover on the driver’s side, near the strut tower. Once located, lift the cover to remove it.

  2. Starting from the 1st DME connector (closest to the headlight), remove all 6 connectors.

  3. Depending on vehicle options and equipment, you might want to unplug surrounding connectors to make room.

  4. Once all 6 connectors are unplugged, move them aside slightly to make room.

Some models such as F97 and G05 have a strut brace covering engine computer cover. For those models, you might have to remove the strut brace to gain easy access to the DME.
